Healthy Pregnancy & Newborns

MCAH develops systems with the goal to help protect and improve the health of California's women of reproductive age, infants, children, adolescents, and their families. MCAH assesses and monitors the health status, health needs, and health care services available to this population, with a special focus on low-income populations.
 
 

LOCAL PRIORITIES:
The following includes priorities for the Modoc County MCAH population as determined by the 2010-2014 five-year needs assessment:

  • Increase access and referrals to Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health services for the MCAH population
  • Decrease childhood obesity rates
  • Reduce barriers to access to care
  • Continue to implement our oral health program
  • Increase the number of women receiving adequate prenatal care
  • Increase the number of women with early entry into prenatal care
  • Increase the time interval between pregnancies
